SFP operates globally to rebuild depleted fish stocks and reduce the environmental and social impacts of fishing and aquaculture. 

SFP is seeking a Junior Software Developer located in Indonesia to support the development of one of its key proprietary products, Seafood Metrics.

Seafood Metrics provides seafood buyers and retailers with a customized analysis of their wild-caught and farmed seafood portfolios, enabling them to better understand the risk levels in their sourcing fisheries. This data-driven tool empowers the seafood industry to make informed decisions, optimize operations, and implement sustainable practices effectively.

Reporting to the Principal Software Engineer (Metrics, Terra) & Senior Systems Administrator, the Junior Software Developer will support the Data Systems Manager, and collaborate closely with multiple internal stakeholders to support the development of Seafood Metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Seafood Metrics:

• Daily technical maintenance
• Design and development of new features
• Maintain automated test code coverage
• Support all analysis and data setup

Support server setup and maintenance

Salary:

• The gross salary range is IDR 198,896,400 - IDR 238,675,680 annually.

Key Requirements & Experience:

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor's degrees in information systems, database management, systems design, or related field, preferred

Experience & Expertise

• 2+ years of software development experience with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL
• 2+ years of systems administration using Capistrano, SSH, and shell scripts
• Excellent data collection, analytical, and organization skills

Technical & Systems Knowledge

• Detailed understanding of agile software development methodologies, including test-driven development and Git SCM
• Knowledge of major operating systems, including Debian, Ubuntu, Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies, including REST, OAUTH, XHTML, and CSS
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite and productivity tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Suite, email)
• Experience or experimentation with AI and machine learning

• Ability to comfortably read, write, and speak in English
• Global culture awareness and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse backgrounds
• Ability to maintain information in strict confidentiality

• This is a 100% virtual position and requires a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a fully remote, global team.
• Work hours: Standard 8 hours with flexibility to adjust hours to collaborate with a globally diverse team or address unexpected technical issues.
• Travel requirements: Minimal - flexibility to travel internationally, if needed
